Job Description

Our client is a Swedish company with HQ in Stockholm. They have since our inception in 2011 challenged the watch industry and always looking for brilliant people that want to grow together. 

 

Ecommerce Manager Japan will contribute to online business in Japan and be responsible for ecommerce revenue and profitability. This person will develop, manage and optimize online channels in the country and bring together all partners, internal or external, for excellent performance results.

Relocation reminder: this position will start in Shenzhen China and eventually relocate to Tokyo, Japan. Orientation period in Shenzhen may take 3-6 months.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BE UP TO

Strategy deployment (20%)

  • Work with regional ecommerce manager to strategize and grow ecommerce channels in Japan
  • Map out a relevant omni-channel customer journey and identify opportunities to improve in the process from awareness to purchase

New channels development and sales operations (50%)

  • Identify relevant online sales channel and lead negotiations with potential partners
  • Secure a profitable operational model with solid business case
  • Work as the project lead to start up the new business, coordinating all functions to ensure operational readiness and deliver best-in-class customer experience
  • Manage daily operations of the new channels; supervise traffic acquisitions, campaigns, merchandise and customer service for optimal performance.
  • Build and maintain good relationship with business partners, including wholesale partners, ecommerce platforms, service providers etc.

Official website development and operations (30%)

  • Oversee performance of the website and constantly give input to optimize traffic and conversion on the site
  • Contribute to the roadmap of a local site to build an online flagship store
  • Liaise with all functions, including logistics, marketing, customer service, technical, to deliver best-in-class customer experience

WHAT YOU’RE GREAT AT

  • University degree in any discipline
  • Native in Japann and fluent in English (both writing and speaking)
  • Minimum 3-year full-time experience working with a reputable consumer brand or internet company in Japan. 2-year direct experience in ecommerce or digital marketing function
  • Strong knowledge about Japann ecommerce ecosystem. Proven experience in working with ecommerce platform such as Gmarket, 11st and Lotte Mall
  • Able to collaborate in a multi-cultural team setting and drive various/international stakeholders for common goal
  • Able to perform in an entrepreneurial environment with little supervision
  • Analytical mind-set and sensitive about data
