Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for sorting and cataloging all incoming publicity materials (synopsis, posters, stills etc.) sent to HKIFF and following up with related parties for any outstanding materials;
  • Prepare and organize various check lists/ schedules for booking folder, main catalogue and other HKIFF publications production;
  • Oversee and control the working schedule of publications and other related printed materials of HKIFF, such as the booking folder, main catalogue, leaflet, programme note and newsletter;
  • Liaise with the design house/ freelance designer and monitor their adaptation work for the Festival publications;
  • Monitor the progress of outgoing and incoming write-ups.  Filter materials and text, format incoming write-ups, type and file editorial materials etc. and deliver the write-ups to the layout design house/ designer as scheduled;
  • Co-ordinate and monitor the work progress of freelance editorial service providers by recording details of work done and preparing payment time sheets of individual freelancers;
  • Co-ordinate with the Website Editor in updating the contents of the official websites of the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society;
  • Liaise with the layout design and printing service provider(s) for the Festival publications to ensure that their work is on schedule;
  • Process the submissions for open entries;
  • Proofread film subtitles, publications and other related printed materials; and
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor and/ or management from time to time.

Requirements:

  • University graduate or equivalent;
  • At least 2 years’ relevant working experience;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese including Putonghua;
  • Proficient in PC skills (MS Word, Excel and Access);
  • Experience in publishing will be an advantage; and
  • Required to work overtime and irregular hours including full-day work on weekends and public holidays during certain periods.

 

The above position is offered on temporary contract terms only.
