Responsibilities:-

• Perform nucleic acid extraction & quality control tests from blood and tissue samples from cancer patients.
• Perform Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) & PCR tests.
• Help to perform specialized tests and develop new protocols under guidance.
• Keep inventory records of various kinds of specimens & reagents/consumables.
• Involved in laboratory accreditation, ISO & proficiency testing.
• Assist Laboratory Scientist & MT in training students/trainees attached in the Laboratory
• Observe and follow good laboratory practices, standard operating procedures and Laboratory safety guidelines
• Involved in equipment inventory checking and laboratory housekeeping.
• Assist in literature search for academic paper preparation.

Requirements:-

• B.Sc/M.Sc. degree holders in Medical Laboratory Science, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biology or equivalent.
• A Certificate of Registration (Part II or preferable Part I) and a valid Practising Certificate issued by the Medical Laboratory Technologist Board, Hong Kong.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in English and Cantonese.
