Responsibilities:-

• Supervise the process of nucleic acid extraction from blood and tissue samples.
• Oversee the smooth operation & quality control of NGS & PCR tests and responsible for data tabulation, storage and reporting of NGS & PCR test results and back-checking of data accuracy & statistical analysis.
• Responsible for inventory recording of various kinds of specimens, reagents & consumables and involved in ordering reagents and consumables for daily laboratory usage.
• Responsible for overall QC & QA for laboratory testing, laboratory accreditation, ISO & proficiency testing. 
• Develop guidelines in occupational and laboratory safety and ensure that good laboratory practices and standard operating procedures are followed.
• Actively assist in the development of specialized tests and new protocols.
• Participate in the training of students/trainees attached in the Laboratory.
• Assist in literature search and academic paper preparation.

Requirements:-

• M.Sc. or M. Phil degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biology or equivalent. Candidates who are B.Sc. degree holder with appropriate laboratory experiences are also considered.
• A Certificate of Registration (Part I) and a valid Practising Certificate issued by the Medical Laboratory Technologist Board, Hong Kong.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in English and Cantonese.
