Junior Merchandiser 

The Candidate

We are searching for a confident, energetic candidate to join our Merchandising and Supply Team.

We are interested in your attitude, ability and intelligence as well as your experience. Previous experience in a merchandising role is preferable and experience within the giftware, home adornments, housewares or home accessories markets is desirable. We want to recruit someone for the long term, someone looking to develop a career at an exciting and growing company. Candidates must be honest, reliable and trustworthy with an international outlook to life and business.

The role requires excellent organisation, time management and communication. You will be negotiating and co-ordinating with our factory/supply base in China on a daily basis and communicating with our customers in relation to the management and timely shipment of their orders.

The Role

Job Description – Merchandiser

• Responsibility for ensuring all purchase orders for certain key customers are shipped on the dates agreed.
• Constant communication and co-ordination with suppliers to ensure that orders are correct and ship on time.
• Responsible for arranging the inspection of orders prior to shipment for certain key customers.
• To facilitate the communication between suppliers and UK head office and HK regional office.
• Help in chasing suppliers to send samples.
• Responsible for negotiating debit claims.
• Price negotiation of prices.
• Assist in ensuring all products supplied are to the correct specification and quality including the correct packaging and labelling.
• Assist in the negotiation of Retrospective Discount Agreements and other volume discounts with suppliers.
• You may be required to travel throughout China to visit suppliers
• Visiting and assisting UK staff at the Canton Trade Fair.
