Description of Job duties:

The applicant will have responsibility to Karing Buddhist Charitable Fund Association Ltd., in the following three categories.

1. Translations - including written and spoken Tibetan to English or Chinese (Mandarin), and English and Chinese translations into Tibetan.

2. Teaching - Regularly provide Tibetan lessons to Hong Kong people, and teach Buddhist Tibetan chanting and reading Buddhist Scripture to followers of Buddhism in Hong Kong.

3. Publicity and communication: translation of promotional Buddhist literature; Responsible for interpretation of Tibetan monks giving lectures to followers of Buddhism in Hong Kong; assisting Hong Kong Buddhist monks giving lectures to Tibetan or English audiences; Assisting with Tibetan and Hong Kong Buddhist gathering activities, increasing religious academic and cultural exchanges.

Qualifications:

-          Minimum a Masters Degree / Bachelor’s Degree in Buddhist Studies / Buddhist Philosophy or related disciplines

-          Fluent or near native fluency in Tibetan and Chinese language. Fluency in English language

-          Minimum 2 years of experience in Tibetan-Chinese and Tibetan-English translation experience.

-          Working experience / experience in Tibetan Buddhist settings preferred.
