The Assistant Human Resources Manager is responsible for managing the HR function to support regional strategic and of approximately 50+ employees. This includes, but is not limited to, directing and coordinating organizational design, leadership development, C&B, employee relations, recruiting, employee services and HR administration.

Job descriptions

  • Understand business and its strategy, be an active part of the decision making process across all facets of the organizational unit (sales, service, support functions, etc)
  • Understand the external world and its implications on the business and people strategy (industries, markets, customers, HR, people practices etc.)
  • Proactively influences management to support the successful implementation of HR programs and initiatives
  • Provide the local perspective of business needs and requirements to HR at all levels
  • Ensure implementation of Global/Regional HR Strategy in alignment with local needs
  • Develop and communicate the local People Strategy and translate it into HR goals and actions; identify needs for change management activities or providing recommendations
  • Guide the business on the appropriate HR programs, processes, and policies based on the business environment / strategy
  • Manages the delivery of solutions covering multiple areas of Human Resources such as recruitment, training and development, payroll, MPF, insurance, employee relations etc for Hong Kong/Macau office
  • Leads corporate initiatives such as employee satisfaction survey, and other complex and high-visibility projects as necessary
  • Ensures compliance with applicable statues. Consults legal counsel to ensure that policies comply with internal guidance and government laws
  • Other duties as may be directed from time to time by the Managing Director, Hong Kong and Macau & HRD AP & China

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 5 years’ HR generalist/business partner experience.  Experience working with sales and service business teams helpful
  • Professional in Human Resources is preferred
  • Strong business acumen and advanced employment law knowledge
  • Ability to objectively coach and influence employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues
  • Proficiency in conflict investigation/resolution, consulting, negotiation, influencing, and facilitation
  • Ability to work on assignments requiring considerable judgment, decision making and initiative
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Fluent in Cantonese, English; Japanese language skill is a plus
