The client is a respected global financial group, is now seeking a Senior Underwriting Manager / Underwriter - General Insurance (H&A, Casualty, Motor) (HKD70k – 85k) to join their growing team in Asia Pacific.

Responsibilities:

• Improve the Underwriting strategies and provide end-to-end underwriting support to country underwriters, operational efficiency
• Develop & implement various business strategies including new business, retention, pricing, portfolio and tier-ing strategies
• Support the formulation and execution of the underwriting plans, Portfolio strategies, WAV strategies, Customer strategies and Go-To-Market strategies
• Monitor underwriting strategy relating to performance metrics, data and insights, syndicate findings and make recommendations to changes in underwriting strategy as necessary
• Improve company’s underwriting governance and visibility at the key distribution channels.
• Provide market insights and ensure business needs, opportunities & gaps are addressed
• Develop talent and improve technical & sales competency of market facing underwriters and bench strength
• Responsible for product development and providing technical advice

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or post-graduate qualifications with minimum 10 years underwriting experience
• Insurance qualification such as CII, ANZIIF or equivalent is preferred
• Proven track record of driving results in one or more Specialty lines in Health & Accident, Casualty and Motor
• A high level understanding of underwriting, claims and risk engineering dynamics
• Understanding of Corporate customers demands and challenges, in particular in multi-national insurance programs
• Proven ability to develop and execute on strategic & financial plans and growth initiatives
• Fluent in Chinese and English
