Key accountabilities

• Evaluate project and regional cost data to support global benchmarking

• Support assessment of the cost implications for new design standards

• Facilitate value engineering of the design to support cost reduction initiatives

• Support ongoing implementation of a cost modelling tool to support project and program decision making

• Maintain up to date cost data and facilitate value engineering to seek opportunities to reduce cost

• Develop the global supply chain strategy analysing manufacturing capabilities, geographical advantages, demand/volumes and distribution

• Procurement and management of the Tier 1 supply chain globally demonstrating value whilst maintaining standards

• Challenge and make recommendations for improving the cost and supply chain

• Undertake quarterly reviews of each tier 1 supplier, provide a detailed report that outlines the results and actions

• Support the supply chain performance for the regional programme manager

Knowledge and experience

• Degree in quantity surveying, commercial and/or procurement management (or other related disciplines) is required

• Over seven years relevant experience in cost and/or commercial management specifically in developing procurement strategies and analysing cost data to drive improvements on a global/regional scale.

• Business level communication skills in both English and Japanese (both written and verbal)

• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment and to work pro-actively as part of a committed team

• Experience providing programme/portfolio consultancy services to large multinational companies

• People management skills in the context of managing various stakeholders

• Experience in hotel, hospitality, and/or retail sectors preferred

• Experience with reporting to the client directly and being accountable for the overall success of the project deliverables
