Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Senior Construction Manager in managing the development of capital works projects of the Hong Kong Science Park;
  • Project(s) administration and supervision of the performance of consultants and contractors;
  • Monitor the performance of resident site staff to ensure civil/ structural engineering works carrying out in accordance with the design assumptions, specifications, contract requirements, and good engineering practice;
  • Assist the Senior Construction Manager with respect to civil/ structural engineering works of the project(s);
  • Assist in vetting of the structural submission prepared by the consultants or contractors;
  • Monitoring the project(s) safety performance;
  • Liaise and coordinate between the project development team, facility management team and resident site team;
  • Co-ordinate with the project team to produce preliminary and detailed designs;
  • Independently handle improvement and minor works, including term contracts, defects rectification works, fitting out, alteration and addition works;
  • Attend site meetings and carry out inspections of the building works as directed by the Senior Construction Manager;
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Member of a recognized local professional institute in the discipline of civil or structural engineering or related disciplines;
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant post-qualification working experience in civil or structural engineering;
  • Self-driven, independent, problem solving with good leadership and interpersonal skill;
  • Experience in managing large scale multi-disciplinary projects from inception, completion and handover including claims and EOT assessment, etc.;
  • Experience in development of institutional buildings will be an advantage;
  • Knowledge of statutory requirements and procedures for project development in Hong Kong;
  • Skill in design and project management software such as Revit, AutoCAD, BIM and other related computer application will be an advantage;
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese.
