CallisonRTKL seeks an Interior Designer with retail project experience to join its Retail Store Practice Group located in Hong Kong. This position will focus on retail design, development and implementation projects. The ideal candidate will have strong conceptual design with the ability to communicate design ideas to the client and team members. This is an experience retail designer will have responsibility including interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating design assignment.

Responsibilities

• Participates in design strategy sessions and presentations; manages day to day design concept/ process consistent with the project’s program, budget and time constraints
• Responds to input and changes to project parameters by developing alternative design and maintains concept continuity
• May participate in client meetings and presentations, facilitates in project scheduling and produces graphic presentations and builds study models
• Participates in concept design development activities, including adaptations, modifications and assisting other designers
• Designs and documents interior plans, elevations, and details
• Illustrates concept or design development ideas to the team through sketching or drawing
• Works with intermediate and senior level staff to review work for design integrity, accuracy, clarity and quality
• Assists with coordination and integration of fixture, furniture and equipment into designed environments as needed
• Assists in space planning and programming activities
• Documents information and maintains project records
• Acts as liaison with client as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related design field  
• 5+ years of experience as an interior designer
• Retail experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of the design process, including color and materials, furniture systems FF&E, and specifications
• Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign preferred
• Ability to management multiple projects concurrently
• Ability to work in a collaborative fast-faced environment
• Ability to communicate design ideas and give direction
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Good presentation skills
• Effective problem solving and interpersonal skills and ability to interface with all clients and employees
• Interacts well with other disciplines and clients in a manner that builds productive relationships
• LEED accreditation preferred
• Hong Kong permanent resident is highly preferred
• Bilingual in Mandarin and English preferred
