US$5-6,000 per month tax free – Mandarin speaking essential

Our client is an international Dubai based boutique interior design consultancy dedicated to the hospitality & leisure industry and are looking for a Mandarin speaking intermediate Interior Designer. 

The successful candidate will be driven, focused and have experience working on hospitality projects from concept design through to construction.

The job tasks include planning, specification writing, reviewing drawing packages and ultimately reviewing and approving construction and shop drawings.

Desired Skills and Experience

Position Description:

• Assume the role of assistant to the senior designer or design manager, undertaking assigned design tasks.
• Develop initial ideas and acquire key information about potential projects, as part of a team.
• Consider materials and costs according to set budgets.
• Source products, update the design library and maintain a good working relationship with key suppliers.
• Work in a team with other designers.
• Keep up to date with new developments in the design industry.
• Supervise work through the design stages.
• Attend coordination meetings.
• Review and approve detailed working drawings.
• Translate all Mandarin working and construction drawings.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture or equivalent.

Knowledge/ Skills and Abilities:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign, and Microsoft Office Suite is a must.
• Minimum 5 years experience working on high end hotel/hospitality projects
• Knowledge of Illustrator, 3ds Max, Revit and Sketch up is preferred. 
• Ability to communicate effectively in written format and oral presentations.
• Good organization skills.
• Documentation and reporting skills.
• Ability to meet time lines and work under time pressure.

Language:

• Fluent Spoken Mandarin with Proficient Written Skills.
• Good Spoken and Written English
