Job Description
Our client is looking for a Software Development Team Manager to lead the software development team. The right candidate will team a global team from different regions for software development
Job purpose
Operationally responsible for software and Infrastructure development. Management lead for Infrastructure & Development team. Manages (internal/external) client interaction and expectations, develops lasting relationship with client personnel that foster client ties.
Responsibilities
- Establish and agree the Infrastructure & Development team management processes and documentation for each assigned project in line with company standards and practices
- Establish and maintain governance framework at service level (external M&A, internal/external Reporting,
- Documentation, Fault Tolerance, Patch Management, AV Management, Backups, DR, External/Internal Vulnerability scans, PenTest)
- Establish and maintain ITIL framework
- Participate in audit process initiated by customers
- Operate tight controls to monitor and report on BAU operations
- Establish the company organizational structure within the defined management process for the company activities and contribution. Ensure that the appropriate mix of skills and experience is maintained for all stages of the engagement
- Report progress to both the customer and company line management, ensuring a sound, comprehensive status is reported and all issues, risks and exposure are highlighted in a timely and effective manner
- Specifically set and agree task objectives for development team, monitor their performance against these, coach them and develop their skills, and conduct appraisals at project completion milestones
- Ensure company quality standards are met by maintaining a high standard of professionalism at all times and ensuring high customer satisfaction
- Identify opportunities for improving project office processes, whether internal or external to company, and initiate actions using the appropriate improvement process
- Responsible for the prioritization of projects assigned to the Development team.
- Establish a communication mechanism, ensuring staff have a clear line of escalation for both BAU service delivery and a clear reporting line for performance and development
- Propose and maintain realistic budgets, taking into account business strategy, challenges and response to market conditions
Requirements:
- At least eight years’ experience within complex IT environments in an IT supplier, end-user or IT consultancy services company
- Proven ability to lead and co-ordinate multi-skilled teams, including customer, 3rd party, company internal staff
- ISO Experience highly preferred
- Practical ‘hands on’ experience of IT projects, knowledge of the techniques, sensitivities and issues that arise. Knowledge of IT development process and IT technologies
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to write well structured reports with clear, logical and succinct English together with good use of all project management tools
- Ability to resolve conflict, arbitrate
