Responsibilities

• Assist Master to navigate vessel, safely avoid traffic and respond to emergencies;
• Responsible for keeping watches and ensure safe cargo operations;
• Carry out other instructions of Master;

Requirements

• Holding a STCW Class 3 (Deck) Foreign-going Certificate recognized by Marine Authorities;  (Holding a STCW Class 2 (Deck) Foreign-going Certificate recognized by Marine Authorities an advantage);
• Have served not less than 12 months qualifying sea service as a watchkeeping officer in the deck section while holding a Seagoing Class 3 certificate or a certificate specified as equivalent to that certificate, & be further to possess a valid STCW Class 2 (Deck) Foreign-going Certificate ;
• Holding a “Local Certificate of Competency (Local Vessel Class 1)” as Master up to 1,600 tons issued by Marine Authorities an advantage ;
• The candidate is required to take various examinations with the relevant authorities with a view to be promoted as Deputy Master or Master of the Company’s managed vessels;
• Good communication, interpersonal & team work skills ;
• Good command of written and spoken English & Chinese ;
• Required to work on shift duties.
