- Travel in and develop in-depth knowledge of the destinations offered by the company;
- Be part of a dynamic, highly capable, diverse yet close-knit team of an entrepreneurial organisation that knows no boundaries;
- Take full responsibility in developing business in a specific customer geography/market for the company;
- Work effectively in a small-budget “get more done with less” culture
- Market and sell our journeys using different but complementary ways:
- Digital marketing and offline marketing activities (e.g., events)
- Relationship sales via a consultative, knowledge- and friendship-based approach
Role
This role has a dual focus – as Journey Host, and a Travel Experience Specialist - which are complimentary and together will provide the candidate a meaningful role and potential for growth within our company.
As a Journey Host, your compensation will be based on the number of journeys you host. For the Travel Experience Specialist aspect of this role, compensation will be based on consultative-/relationship- based sales for a specific customer market or geography.
Hosting – Customer Experience
For each Journey that you host, you will be the Lead for everything big and small that needs to be done before, during and follow-up’s after the journey. Each journey is, in effect, an “event”. You will be assigned select ‘events’ to host.
Training – self- as well as provided hands-on training. Before you host the first journey on your own, we will provide training and you will need to familiarise yourself with the itinerary (e.g., hotels, routes, activities) – and understanding the “why’s/what/how” behind our service.
For every journey you host, you will be comfortable with and expected to:
- Be Prepare and Organized
- Familiarize yourself on all aspects of the itinerary and the profiles of the customers in as much detail as is possible.
- Assist our Operations team where needed on journey preparations
- Arrive at the designated Starting location 1-2 days before journey begins and be hands-on in preparing all that is needed before customers arrive
- Listen Anticipate and Lead
- Work closely and be respected as a leader within our multicultural journey crew to ensure the flawless operation of the journey.
- Be tuned in on every customer, their nuances and preferences. Understand group dynamics. Enable our crew to be the trusted attentive journey crew that we strive to be for all our customers
- Be observant, anticipate issues where possible and make the most of unforeseen situations (e.g. spontaneous picnic, while traffic jam) to make road journeys enjoyable
- Gather Feedback - obtain customer feedback & provide new ideas for improved product
Specialist – Travel Experience
This person must be a Travel Experiences Advocate who continually identify ways to impress and strengthen relationships with customers, and partners. You will be comfortable with:
- Working to sales targets but equally happy doing the administrative tasks as this is a 360-degree role where you will handle every detail of the booking from initial inquiry to payments, to the clients returning home
- Promoting our journeys in a consultative, knowledge- and relationship building-based approach.
- Work closely with the assigned Journey Hosts (if it is not you) to ensure all preferences/limitations/knowledge about your customers are passed on to the journey crew
- Identifying customers/segments and build long term relationships with them;
- Maintaining an active leads and sales generation program for a rolling 12 months;
- Identify which channel partners could be key to your sales success here and identify ways to strengthen these relationships over time.
You will be assigned a specific customer Market/Geography to build and expand the business
Other
- Depending on your interest and availability, you may also get involved in supporting our product development and research activities.
