The Section Manager is responsible for:

• Managing the South China (SCN) team of technical support specialists in consumer product regulations, in particular providing direction and support for the team’s role in providing technical support to the Company’s internal and external clients through enquiries and projects, as well as research activities and knowledge management; and
• Providing leadership and direction in regulatory research for the Global team

 Job Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction in regulatory research for the Global team
• Manage daily activities of the South China Team to ensure timely delivery of project output such as regulatory and market access research
• Manage key client projects by acting as the project coordinator in communications among the different teams within the Global Team and, where necessary, also with other internal technical experts
• Oversee and maintain the efficacy and efficiency of all processes, identify area(s) of improvement and implement new processes where possible
• Provide guidance and/or training on technical and non-technical subjects and subscriptions
• Motivate, guide and coach the South China Team in their personal and professional development
• Daily administrative tasks, as well as manage the South China Team's performance and carry out performance review
• Develop and establish partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth processing of projects
• Innovate and originate new business opportunities 

Job Requirements

• Degree or above in chemistry or a chemical-oriented discipline
• At least 10 years of combined experience in technical support, research and monitoring activities related to chemical requirements for consumer products in a third-party testing laboratory
• At least 3 years of experience in managing a team of technical specialists and project management
• Familiar with EU and USA regulatory frameworks and up-to-date with the regulatory requirements for consumer products in the area of chemical for the EU and USA markets
• Ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally to form effective cross-functional collaborations and networks
• The working language of this position is English and therefore fluency in written and spoken English at a professional level is required. Proficiency in other languages would be an advantage
