The Analyst – QA, at Blue Umbrella is a key contributor whose role is to begin to demonstrate leadership and/or mentorship capabilities in addition to supporting business and team goals as an experienced research analyst.  It is the responsibility of an analyst to ensure that research work is conducted and completed at a high level of quality and in a timely manner, while also possibly supervising or mentoring less experienced peers such as Junior Analysts.

This position reports to the QA Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

•          Collect, analyze and evaluate research information using a variety of media
•          Perform in-depth research on specified sector
•          Accurately summarize the data
•          Write reports  applying in-house style to reports and assist in its refinement
•          Produce quick and detailed accurate reports
•          Possesses and exhibits an interest in his/her own personal development by:

 o   Proactively reviewing his/her own work on a regular basis and asking for feedback from a supervisor or the QA Team Head

 o   Actively seeks new challenges and/or additional responsibilities

•            Demonstrates strong communication skills – both inter- and intra-team

•       Understands and supports team and/or business goals as outlined by a supervisor or manager
•           Demonstrate a firm understanding of client concerns and requirements
•        Consistently provide feedback and play a key role in the development of junior staff
•          Assist with the execution of ad hoc projects and assignments, often to tight deadlines
•          Keep abreast of industry-related news
•          Support senior analysts and managers with items that may include, but are not limited to:

 o   Assisting with case management

 o   Supervision of Junior Analysts

 o   Assisting with first-tier quality assurance checks

 o   Ad hoc  business projects

o Contributing to continuous improvement efforts, e.g., providing input/feedback and/or assisting in the execution of training reviews, process and efficiency improvements, product innovation, etc.

•       Comply and/or follow processes, standards, values of Blue Umbrella as outlined in training, policies and staff manuals 

Qualifications:

The ideal applicant will

• Possess at least 1 year work experience in relevant fields, e.g. AML, KYC compliance, qualitative research and media
• Good understanding of due diligence, KYC / AML requirements, or third party screening will be advantageous
• Possess strong analytical and presentation skills with strong knowledge in conducting research in open sources and databases (i.e. Internet, government databases, and media databases)
• Proficient in Chinese (both Traditional and Simplified Chinese) and English, and able to consolidate Chinese and English sources into English summary
• Strong attention to detail with ability to produce accurate and quality work under tight deadlines and minimal supervision
• Possess excellent in interpreting source information and able to present them in a logical and concise manner
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Be well organised and able to work accurately and effectively under pressure
• Be a good member working in a team
• Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Be a quick learner who can spot new opportunities with demonstrated initiative, diligence, and attention to detail
• Be a post-secondary degree holder
• Be a holder of HK ID or valid visa with permission to work in Hong Kong
