Job Description

 Position Objective

  • Support US Design team in full development, sample process, provide new market sources
  • To support pricing strategies
  • Participate in the team on achieving departmental target and company goals with corporate timeline
  • Oversee product development and pricing

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible and plan for the development merchandising activities to production
  • Ascertain design information and work with US Design team on product development, new development on technique, washing/printing, ensure to meet the needs of designer’s requirement of each season
  • Communicate and execute design concept to teams, factories and suppliers
  • Work closely with US Design /Buying teams in the development of the seasonal collections that are innovative, directional, and satisfy the vision of the Brand while meeting the needs from the business and US Design team
  • Develop new vendors to minimize cost and lead-time associated with geographic changes of garment manufacturers
  • Keep abreast of industry changes, market intelligence, fashion trends, new resources and opportunities
  • Ensure effective communication between internal and external counterparts
  • Manage and maintain seasonal Design Development T&A calendars, anticipating obstacles, proactively deliver solutions and driving continuous process improvement
  • Ensure that fabric/trims/protos/salesman samples are developed to meet buyer's requirements, adequate quotations are negotiated and obtained to achieve business objectives - follow up on development
  • Ensure delivery on time
  • Assist in the costing, pricing and quotation review
  • Work on the capacity planning and factory allocation.  Select vendor manufacturers and work with factories on lead-times, capture shipping windows and salesman samples delivery
  • Arrange sample submission for various approval processes. Communicate between designers and vendors on any revision required
  • Ensure the process data up-to-date on systems and charts

 

Qualification & Requirements

  • School Certificate or above, prefer Diploma and above holder in merchandising, textile and relevant disciplines
  • at least 5 years merchandising experience preferred with US buying office or large trading business
  • Profound product knowledge in knit washed products
  • High adaptability and flexibility to changing business environments, able to work independently
  • Detailed-oriented and able to handle very structured process
  • Good PC skill, specially Excel, familiar with multiple systems, charts and reports
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills and problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English; Mandarin and Cantonese are essential
