Your Core Competencies.

The core competency in this Regional Trade Compliance Manager is the import and customs clearance of consumer electronics in certain Asia-Pacific countries, as well as export controls, transportation regulations, and HTS classification, all in support of the Company Global Supply Chain.

Your Responsibilities.

In this role you will:

• Assure daily import operations comply with customs laws and regulations while exceeding Company targets
• Support internal business partner, AP Customer Supply Chain Team, guiding import/export and transportation compliance to operate seamless end-to-end supply chain in the AP region
• Manage external Customs Brokers and work with external Freight Forwarders and Regional Coordinators
• HS code classification for AP countries, but particularly China, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand
• Lead responsibility for customs inquiries, including face-to-face customs meetings, manage product clearance with high efficiency
• Lead responsibility for customer requests with regard to customs clearance
• Assist in controversies with governmental agencies; oversee Customs audits, inquiries, investigations or other developing disagreements over Customs matters
• Prepare declaration documents, import license (e.g., CIQ, CCC) and statements
• Support Customer inquiries regarding customs clearance, HTS classification at Customer’s import location
• Assure duty-free application of AP Free Trade Agreements to eligible products
• Manage development, implementation, and operation of trade compliance in ERP, procedures and work to ensure Company adherence to WW Trade Compliance Policy
• Analyze and Act on KPI report and shipment clearance delay reasons to find the root cause, bring solution, and improve process
• Work independently but act as part of a WW Trade Compliance Team; gain internal stakeholders’ understanding and support

Your Education Qualifications.

• College degree or higher, major in International Trade, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related subject.

Your Essential Qualifications.

• At least 5 years experience working  in import/export, customs clearance, and HTS Classification 
• Have working experiences with China Customs (中国海关) demonstrating strong operational knowledge of Chinese customs regulations, processes, and practices
• Hands-on operational knowledge of import/export, including WGQ FTZ & BLP
• Experience with consumer electronics HTS classification rules and practices, especially China & Japan
• Strong operational knowledge of Free Trade Agreements, ASEAN & China 
• Experience managing external Customer Brokers
• Solid computer skills, especially with Excel and PPT
• Excellent written and oral English, Chinese
• Basic knowledge of ERP (Oracle or SAP)

• Experience working in a 3PL
