Job Description

The open position is for an associate to join the Middle Office team of the investment management business of JPMorgan. The chosen individual will work within the team with responsibilities that include:

  • Work closely with the fund managers and dealers to provide daily support for their ongoing business requirements spanning a variety of areas such as in new business initiatives, front office support, technology & infrastructure changes, and initiatives raised by global guideline team.
  • Take ownership of initiatives and coordinate between overseas offices (including Europe and US) and the various support areas such as operations, technology etc to ensure successful completion
  • Work with the other regions/ global team to identify solutions for the enhancement, development and implementation of scalable and robust operating models and solutions, ensuring alignment to strategic business initiatives
  • Producing relevant meeting materials i.e. agendas, plans, models, project documents, presentations and proposals.
  • Assist with work allocation to shared team resources
  • Monitor investment guidelines and handle ad-hoc queries raised by internal or external parties
  • Maintain in-house investment guideline system and procedure of guideline monitoring
  • Provide training to fund managers on guidelines and conduct review on guideline coding on a regular basis
  • Consolidate facts and figures from various sources and provide concise summary updates, prepare and update various management reports on a periodic basis, handle ad-hoc management report requests from senior management and other overseas offices

Requirements:

  • With a minimum of 7 years working in the financial services industry, the successful candidate will have good knowledge of the equity, fixed income and currency markets gained from experience in fund management
  • Experience in fund valuation, investment compliance or project management would be an advantage
  • University graduate  
  • Effective organization, prioritization and time management skills, able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to breakdown complex initiatives into manageable tasks, prioritize and execute accordingly
  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Exemplary communication skills both written and spoken, must be able to deliver key messages to senior colleagues in a confident, straight-forward manner
  • Fluency in English plus good language skills (oral and written) in Cantonese and/or Mandarin
  • Possess strong analytical skills, with great attention to detail and ability to make sound judgment
  • Ability to build relationships, respecting inclusion and diversity, and interact effectively across multiple different locations
  • Offer alternative perspectives to problems and recommend innovative solutions to opportunities
  • Able to develop strong trust-based relationships with colleagues and business partners
  • Demonstrates accountability and responsibility for one's work environment through the consistent respect for different points of view
