The Product Development Designer will collaborate with merchandising, engineering teams and suppliers to support end-to-end product development process from concept stage to sample review, approval of hardline and softline items.

The Product Development Designer must possess extensive resources and knowledge on various materials and product formats; understand the manufacturing processes; strong sense on design and color, good aesthetic judgment and visualization skill. The incumbent needs to articulate design direction and communicate visually to suppliers and sculpting studio, able to write clearly and concisely to communicate with our U.S. business partners. S/he will also be responsible for researching markets and consumer trends, developing ideas and processes for new products; improves upon the performance and design of existing products.

Requirements: 

·      University level degree in Design with at least 5 years working experience in related fields

·      Great English communication skills, both verbally and written required. Fluent Mandarin would be an asset

·      Strong knowledge in different materials, gifts and home decor porduct formats, production and manufacturing processes

·      Creative approach to solving problems

·      Experience on plush and softline is a plus

·      Solid computer skills, proficient in Adobe (Illustrator, Photoshop) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

·      Merchandising and sourcing experience would be beneficial

·      Be flexible to travel to China frequently
