Job Description

Major Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of life policy operations including underwriting, policy issue, policy services, policy changes and premium settlement, ensuring that department objective are achieved;
  • Ensure life insurance operations are in compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements at all times;
  • Coordinate with Legal & Compliance Division and the Bank Group on any new or updated regulatory requirements or corporate standards;
  • Track and evaluate current department processes for effectiveness and recommend improvements;
  • Provide positive leadership that encourages communications, team work and employee inputs to continuously improve processes and work flow efficiencies with new ideas and strategies;
  • Coordinate with IT Department on production problem fix and system enhancement;
  • Identify training needs of the team to ensure they are competent to undertake their responsibilities;
  • Participate in system enhancement and new product projects or any ad hoc project as deemed required and necessary.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree holder in Business Administration or relevant discipline; designation of FLMI preferably;
  • Sound knowledge and proven track records in life insurance products, operations, compliance processes and regulatory requirements;
  • At least 10 years’ relevant experience in life insurance operations, in which, 5 years’ experience at managerial level position and with exposure in AML, FATCA & CRS;
  • Excellent leadership and management skills in interacting effectively with different levels of people;
  • Strong planning and organizing skills;
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Good time management and analytical skill;
  • Customer focused and self-initiative;
  • Well versed in spoken and written English & Chinese;
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint and Chinese word processing.
