Job Description
Haymarket Media is looking to recruit a talented commercial director to take overall responsibility for revenue management and strategy – content solutions, event sponsorship, digital and subscriptions, for Campaign Asia Pacific, CEI and joint venture activities – Spikes Asia.
Responsibilities:
Sales Management
- Management of key strategic accounts
- Build, manage and develop relationships with key clients across Asia and specifically China
- Ensure efficient and accurate use of the sales management system by sales teams
- Implementing best practice across the group to drive yields and increase revenues
- Improve reporting and generate more effective sales analysis (Market share, competitor map, etc.)
Financial
- P&L responsibility for revenue streams
- Budgeting, targeting and forecasting – weekly, monthly and annually
- Sales plan and delivery of annual targeted revenue
- Preparation of budgets and business plans in conjunction with Brand Director and Finance Director
- To attend and report at divisional leadership meeting
Strategic
- Be responsible for taking the commercial lead to create a sustainable business model for the brands
- Build and implement an integrated sales strategy across the group that will drive revenues, yields and greater efficiencies where appropriate
- Working with the relevant Haymarket teams to continually research and develop new sales initiatives for our marketing communication titles to maximize revenue from global accounts
- Evaluate cross-selling opportunities and negotiating large-scale contracts
- Work closely with our joint venture partners to grow revenue from our Festival business
- Continually evaluate through approved business planning framework new business opportunities
People Management
- Manage and direct sales teams
- Recruit, develop, motivate, mentor, inspire, train and retain the best sales talents
- Create an effective group structure for sales maximization
- Have a clear succession sales management plan
- Ensure that all times are sales teams are trained, appraisal, etc. and are equipped to effectively carry out their duties
- Regular 1-1 Meetings with all direct reports
- Ensure all staff have annual appraisals and CDP plans
- Manage all commission and bonus plans, including regular KPI feedback
- Form relationships, develop and maintain them with the Haymarket leadership team in Asia and work closely with the Haymarket sales team in London
- Embody the spirit of Haymarket GGP, lead and inspire those working synergies, staff development, common practice, etc. across all our sales teams in Asia
- Chair regular sales meetings
Requirements
- Experience working in the media industry within a commercial or commercially driven environment
- Proven track record of running successful teams, developing and delivering a commercially strategic vision
- Understand how to prioritise our brand opportunities based on their value to our audience and their commercial viability
- Have the drive, energy and commitment to work across strong leading brands within the Haymarket portfolio
- Strong English and Mandarin skills are required, other language skills are highly desired
