The Role

Tink Labs is looking to recruit a highly qualified Legal Counsel to head our Legal department. This position will oversee the legal aspects of our business and safeguard the company’s reputation by providing legal advice to management about all relevant issues. The appointed Legal Counsel will work on Tink Labs mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments, joint ventures and other corporate transactions.

 Responsibilities:

• Counsel and advise business clients on a wide variety of complex and developing legal and business issues regarding product development and intellectual property licensing;
• Structure, draft and negotiate complex licensing agreements;
• Provide accurate and timely counsel to management across a broad range of legal topics (labour law, partnerships, international ventures, corporate finance etc.)
• Collaborate with legal department colleagues and business clients across the company on the development and execution of our silicon-related strategies; and
• Collaborate with legal department colleagues and policy specialists on various legal and regulatory issues, with an emphasis on privacy, security and regulatory compliance.
• Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations
• Draft and consolidate agreements, contracts and other legal documents to ensure the company’s full legal rights
• Capable in dealing with complex legal matters with multiple stakeholders and across different offices globally
• Ensure clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the company
• Perform work with integrity and responsibility
• Keep up to date with the current knowledge of alterations in legislation

 Requirements:

• JD or equivalent degree from top tier law school and admission to the HK Bar is required
• Admission to other Bars especially PRC is desirable
• Experience in a reputable law firm; in-house experience is desirable
• 7+ years relevant experience in sophisticated legal environments, including solid legal counseling experience;
• Outstanding analytical and communication skills;
• Keen business sense, with the ability to think strategically and find creative business-oriented solutions to legal issues, balancing legal risks against business interests in complex and ambiguous situations;
• Strong results orientation with a dedicated client focus and ability to establish a trusted advisor relationship with business clients;
• Demonstrated the ability to work efficiently, meet demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment, prioritize workflow, and adjust to frequent workload fluctuations;
• Ability to work independently while also being a strong collaborator;
• Ability to engage effectively with external partners;
• English and Mandarin language skills to a business standard required
