Institute of Bioresource and Agriculture (IBA)

The Institute of Bioresource and Agriculture (IBA) is a newly established Institute under the Faculty of Science of Hong Kong Baptist University. It will serve as a knowledge hub that engages in bioresource conservation and sustainable agriculture, promotes and offers professional and public education in sustainable consumption, bioresource and organic agriculture. The Institute is seeking for a suitable candidate to fill the following vacancy:

The appointee is expected to assist the Centre Executive/Assistant Centre Executive in the execution of educational activities and in the operation of its Learning Centre. He/She will be monitoring the overall operation of education programmes/workshops, preparing workshop materials for promoting organic agriculture and sustainable living style, and supervising part-time staff. He/She will be providing daily administrative support in equipment maintenance, security service, monitoring the reception counter and handling enquiries. Working on shift hours, weekends and public holidays is required.

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Biology, Environmental Science or related disciplines with at least three years of relevant experience in related field. Experience of office administration will be an advantage. Good communication in both spoken and written English and Chinese and good computer skills including MS Office and Chinese word-processing are required.

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of one year commencing as soon as possible. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to performance review, mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
