Our client is a diversified global conglomerate focused on providing leading transport, logistics and trading services. With a core focus on developing new technology this year, our client is rapidly expanding their IT department to provide innovative solutions to the business.

About the Role

Our Client is looking for a (Development) Database Administrator who can review a production Oracle Database that supports a suite of legacy applications. You will be required to review:

• The current DB structure
• Data quality
• Performance tuning, backup and recovery states/policies
• Options and designs for a new target database for a two stage-migration.
• Stage one is to a deployed open-source RDBMS. Stage two is to migrate it to the Cloud and manage it through ETL, QA/Testing, through development and into production with a new front-end and APIs.

 About the Person

You must have at least 5 years of commercial experience:

• In DB design, architecture and models
• Working with various RDBMS, ideally including Oracle and open-source databases such as Mongo or MySQL
• Setting standards, policies and governance
• Designing migration plans, including cleanse/match/merge and ETL
• Have full migration life-cycle experience, including managing QA/Testing

Candidates should have a degree in an IT related discipline and ideally be available in less than one month.

Knowledge of Data warehousing and Business Intelligence would be an advantage.
