Job Description

l   Registered Social Worker;

 

l   Degree or above in Social Sciences or welfare discipline;

 

l  At least 4 years experience in social services and solid experience in staff supervision and centre-in- charge;

l   Competent in both written and spoken English and Chinese;

l   Prior experience in serving Ethnic Minorities community preferable;

l   Manage centre administration, staff supervision and reports to the funder;

l Conduct direct services; organize and implement center-based and outreach community integration programmes;

l   Write funding proposals to generate extra funding sources for service development;

l Network with schools / NGOs / churches / government departments and other community stakeholders;

l   Monitor programme implementation and evaluation;

l   Develop locality work for enhancing social integration and racial harmony;

 

Applicants must be prepared to work shift-work, including night-duty and weekends;

Christian Action was established in 1985 as a Hong Kong registered charitable organisation.  Our mission is to serve those who are poor, disadvantaged, marginalised, displaced or abandoned, aiming to give them hope, dignity and self-reliance.  Our service recipients include underprivileged children and youth, the unemployed, low-income families, ethnic minorities, refugees, migrant domestic workers, as well as orphans and abandoned children in Qinghai; we also run social enterprise programmes.  Our services are based on the example of Jesus Christ to serve all people regardless of their age, gender, nationality and religion.
