Language Centre 

The appointee is expected to

(i) provide technical support to the Language Centre’s Putonghua Shuiping Ceshi Training and Testing Centre;

(ii) develop and manage web applications and databases;

(iii) conduct statistical analysis for courses and examination data;

(iv) conduct testing and bug fixing on web applications;

(v) provide technical support to classes, functions and activities;

(vi) provide internal training to staff; and

(vii) perform other duties as assigned by the Head of the Language Centre.

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Studies or a relevant subject with at least two years of relevant post-qualification experience. Expertise in PHP / Python and relational databases (such as SQL Server), SPSS or other statistical analysis software is a must. Experience in developing applications using R, HTML5, XML, JavaScript, jQuery is an added advantage.A good command in Chinese and English is required.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a technical test and an interview.

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of one year. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to performance review, mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Reference salary range: HK$19,000 - HK$31,000

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
