The ‘Career and Life Adventure Planning for Youth Project (CLAP for Youth @ JC)’ in the Faculty of Education, supported by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, are inviting applications for the posts of Assistant Computer Officer(s).

Assistant Computer Officer(s)

The appointee(s) will be responsible for (a) assessment-related, programming, data and platform integration; (b) website UX/UI-related layout graphical design and system templates; (c) OpenSource platform (Moodle, Mahara, Limesurvey, WordPress and PIWIK) maintenance, data and platform integration; and (d) infrastructure and security.

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines; (ii) programming skills, e.g. PHP, MySQL, JavaScript and CSS; (iii) experience in web or mobile application development (knowledge or experience in Laravel framework will be advantageous); (iii) knowledge of installation, maintenance, enhancement, integration and APIs of OpenSource software in PHP programming; (iv) experience in using learning management system and content management system; (v) knowledge of Linux server configuration with PHP, Apache and MySQL; (vi) knowledge of web infrastructure on cloud, web application and server security; and (vii) good interpersonal and communication skills, self-motivation and the ability to work as a team player. Experience in vendor management, user requirement analyses and content editing will be advantageous.

Appointment will be made on contract basis for 1 to 2 years (with contract-end gratuity for a 2-year contract) commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
