The first product on our journey to become a fully digital banking platform will be a multi-currency travel card with an innovative e-wallet application. We want our customers to enjoy a borderless and uninterrupted travel experience.

The ideal candidate for this Full-Stack / Backend Developer position is someone who has demonstrated a strong capability in designing, developing, deploying and supporting real-time, high-traffic, mission-critical systems that are secure, stable and scalable. Deep technical expertise in server-side language such as Java/GoLang/Python and microservices development would be highly beneficial.  

Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of our existing transaction processing platform, fully understand how it works both functionally and non functionally to the extent of being able to support the platform and affect all manner of enhancements, improvements and changes.
• Design and build microservices that will constitute our core banking platform and provide services to our mobile applications and business partners
• Create robust yet reliable highly transactional and event-driven application and infrastructure architectures
• Design and create the database schema and architecture and where necessary be able to optimize performance using proprietary techniques
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features in a fast and iterative development process
• Design, create and run automated unit and integration testing for Microservices and supporting systems/infrastructure
• 3rd line support for production issues, triage and troubleshooting with root cause analysis and resolution
• Continuously discover, evaluate and implement new and emerging technologies to maximize product development efficiency

Requirements:

• At least 4 years in software development.
• Understanding of RPC, messaging architectures and platforms.
• Solid experience in backend development in Java/GoLang/Python, best practices and design patterns.
• Experience in real-time mission-critical platform development (payment processing, trading platform, popular mobile application or platforms, etc)
• Experience at designing and building RESTful APIs. Preferably with experience in orchestrating microservice, containerised workloads to Cloud IaaS such as AWS
• Familiarity with continuous integration and automated testing tools/frameworks.
• Ability to prioritise, work to tight deadlines, manage multiple and changing priorities.
