Position – COO / Head of Operations

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Head of Operations to organize and oversee the daily operations of the affiliate’s team.  The candidate will be the one to ensure that our affiliate business is well-coordinated and productive by managing its procedures and coaching its people.

The area of responsibility for this role is very wide and thus requires thorough knowledge of various processes and functions. The ideal candidate must be competent and able to plan many different kinds of operational activities.  He / She must be an excellent leader who can discover the most efficient ways to run the business.

The goal is to safeguard and augment the efficiency of the team’s operations to facilitate accelerating development and long-term success.

Required Skills / Experience

• Liaising with superior to make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals
• Planning and monitoring the day-to-day running of affiliate business to ensure smooth progress
• An understanding of the online entertainment and games services industry
• An understanding of affiliation for the online entertainment industry, including its technical structure, the needs and mentality of affiliates
• An understanding of basic technical structures of online services and platforms, including databases and user-flows
• Experience with team management especially allocation of tasks, task prioritization, and creation and maintenance of task schedules.

Responsibilities

• Management of operational and development tasks, including their prioritization, progress, and deadlines
• Gaining a full understanding of current system structure, functionalities, and operational flows, in order to participate in planning new functionalities and user-flows, creating extensive test procedures, and flagging for potential system risks
• Gaining full understanding of current operational flows and processes, to create operational manuals and suggest changes for optimization, efficiency, and redundancy.
• Participate in communication with new partners, planning and launching tie-up campaigns, and updating the website with latest changes in their service.

Bonus Experience / Skills

• Experience with acquisition or retention activities for online entertainment affiliate programs
• Sales experience including relationship-building and contract negotiations toward external clients
• Management of or participation in website or system development projects
• Understanding of Japanese language or culture
