KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Lead the development of strategic plans for the responsible categories
• Make recommendations through the evaluation of range, pricing, promotions and NPD to develop the portfolio strategy and innovative pipeline
• Build strong relationship with key partners to drive existing business and maximize new opportunities
• Work closely with vendors and country buyers to recommend new business opportunities to increase sales
• Regularly review performance indicators and manage plans for stock levels
• React to changes in demand and logistics; Meet suppliers and negotiate terms of contract
• Participate in promotional activities; Write reports and forecast sales levels; Present new ranges to country Buying Managers
• Liaise with store team members to ensure product/collection supply meets demand; Seek merchandise feedback from customers
• Train and mentor junior staff

QUALIFICATION:

•  At least 5 years of solid experience in retail buying or toy merchandising
• Have demonstrable Category experience and working within a branded environment
• Have experience of taking ownership of relationships with a key retail partner
• Be a strategic thinker and have a commercial mind-set
• Have strong communication & stakeholder relationship skills, as well as leadership skills
• Be able to analyze information in order to make strategic decisions & recommendations
• Have bags of tenacity and drive
• Strong numerical sense and analytical mind, able to work independently with initiatives and attention to details, good communication skill, interpersonal skills and strong cross-functional working skills
• Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese, Mandarin speaking is an advantage
