Job Description

The Head of Analytics, Regional Team, Health will be responsible for generating and developing innovative Health consulting products and services to bring to local and regional health clients. The individual will be a key player in helping accelerate the growth of the Health business in Asia.

  • Analyze health and wellness data available in country to identify opportunities and draw actionable conclusions from data; develop in partnerships with other internal and external stakeholders innovative first-to-market products that aim to manage health care utilization and improve patient outcomes. Measure and evaluate performance of local provider panels, provider practice patterns and variations, and partner with carriers to develop high performance provider network models and/or products. Monitor and measure outcomes.
  • Provide leadership around technology, applications and data required to further expand local health claims data warehouses managed by MMB across the region; partner with local country Health business leaders and local vendors to further enrich these and draw relevant insights and develop local health products; obtain client feedback and input to develop product requirements and test marketability
  • Embed predictive analytics and data science in consulting deliverables in order to support the creation of innovative health products; oversee delivery of consulting projects to clients
  • Identify opportunities to further expand analytics capabilities by pulling in other engagement, financial wellness or other HR data collected by organizations and held by Mercer
  • Serve as a regional subject matter expert in healthcare analytics and information technology tools; development of intellectual capital & participation in industry speaking / panel events; understand emerging trends and thinking in the field of healthcare analytics and disseminate to the regional health consultants;
  • Collaborate with other global Mercer analytics teams to bring in best practices in Asia; train, upskill and coach regional health consulting team members, build up healthcare analytics capabilities and competencies across the region and identify opportunities to improve processes
  • Manage key strategic client relationships at the local, regional & global level with focus on clients with complex analytical requirements.

The consultant will be responsible for developing and expanding the value proposition, generating the opportunities and delivering the work in collaboration with the regional consulting team, cross line of business/OpCos, multinational consulting group teams and client management teams.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop local capabilities and new products to drive healthcare outcomes and manage total cost of care:

    • Identify opportunities to further expand analytics capabilities by pulling in other engagement, financial wellness or other HR data collected by organizations
  • Manage the growth of healthcare analytics consulting services in the region by:
    • Contributing as a subject matter expert to the sales initiatives and consulting projects
    • Embed predictive analytics and data science in consulting deliverables; oversee delivery of consulting projects to clients
    • Partner with the local consulting team for development of local value proposition and develop approaches localized for the needs of the countries
  • Global and Regional account management responsibility for key multinational clients with a focus on analytics. Develop and grow the accounts via cross line of business collaboration and sales. Effectively manage the health strategy and execution of regional benefit programs for these key clients
  • Serve as a regional subject matter expert in healthcare analytics and information technology tools; contribute and support development of intellectual capital; create marketing presence locally and regionally e.g. participation in industry speaking / panel events. Events include formal industry events as a guest speaker, MMB sponsored industry events, XLOB and Health client events.
  • Collaborate with other global Mercer analytics teams to bring in best practices in Asia; train regional health consulting team members enabling them to articulate the value and services to clients and having them support the delivery of projects; build up healthcare analytics capabilities and competencies across the region and identify opportunities to improve processes
  • Internal Contacts: Client Relationship Managers whose clients will be the focal point to cross-sell consulting solutions; Sales & Marketing Leader who opens opportunities to new clients. Regional Consulting Team to leverage client relationships and opens opportunities.
  • External Contacts: Accredited HMO Providers and clinics who will be providing the support for the health coverage and clinic management, Insurers, TPA, MNC’s and local employer groups.
  • The position can be based in Hong Kong or Singapore.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • University or College graduate
  • At least 10 years of industry experience or equivalent consulting, healthcare or information technology experience
  • Learning agility
  • Business and product development
  • Critical & logical thinking capabilities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • In-depth health care experience – focused on claims, provider and quality of care analysis
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Experience with Tableau, Cognos, and/or other BI and analytic
  • Optional: brokerage license
  • Optional: Actuarial background (ASA, FSA, or equivalent)
