SUMMARY:

This position is responsible to bridge and connect with PD and Production team to ensure smooth operation. Works with suppliers to bring new idea and the most advanced R&D technologies to the PD team.  Follows up and reports for new developments; provides technical support to the PD team and mills/garment vendors.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Handle raw material quality assessment, e.g. test report review, risk assessment
• Ensure developments are production viable, and be able to technically developed; advise yarn/garment vendors to overcome hurdles
• Manage seasonal print development and work with the Color Team on respective approvals
• Communicate with regional offices and clients; Set up final specification with suppliers
• Liaise with launch team on new yarn development and be responsible for recording and QA approval for the development adopted by the team
•  On-board potential and new suppliers to comprehend our requirements, procedures and time and action calendar
• Ensure yarn developed by the Launch team are assessed regularly and they are consistent with the relevant quality standards, also aligned with manufacturers capabilities
• Liaise with suppliers/vendors in production to monitor the bulk yarn quality and provide technical advice to ensure customer standards are met
• Assist in the technical development, pre-production, and cataloging of materials through to bulk production
• Review submissions with responsibility for interpreting regards to all departmental laboratory tests
• Update raw material prices from the market and negotiate with yarn supplier to achieve the best cost
• Provide technical training and support on new technologies of yarn development and performance to the supplier base
