Job Description

Come work at the world’s most respected gemological laboratory as a Client Services Representative  in our GIA Hong Kong Laboratory located in Central Hong Kong. This position provides clerical support services and assists clients with laboratory services and information.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To provide quality service to our clients on a daily bases (in person)
  • Uses the computer terminal to obtain information for clients on items submitted.
  • Tracks specific items for clients and then contacts clients regarding completed services.
  • Distributes information to existing and prospective clients via fax, e-mail and voice mail.
  • Produces duplicate reports, verification letters and assists in report assembly when needed.
  • Maintains files and report logs.
  • Communicates effectively, gets along with coworkers and management, and deals with others effectively and professionally under pressure.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Form 7 graduated required with a minimum of a Grade ‘D’ in the use of English of the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE), or equivalent. 
  • English medium preferred, English as a Second Language required.  Must be able to communicate in English (understand, read and write) and participate in training taught in English.
  • Ability to communicate, understand, read and write in English and Mandarin required to work with GIA Hong Kong clients. 
  • Ability to speak with GIA clients over the phone in a professional manner and in person.
  • Effective communication and good interpersonal skills is required. 
  • Ability to get along with a diverse group of individuals in Hong Kong and other international locations. 
  • Prior work experience in an office setting doing clerical/administrative type duties i.e. typing correspondence, faxing, filing, data entry, typing etc. 
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications and experience with entering data into a computer and using a mouse required.
  • Detail-minded with good concentration skills.
  • Well organized, responsible, mature & ability to work independently. 
  • Willingness to work in various departments and cross train as needed to meet business needs. 
  • Willingness to work overtime.
