About the Company

My client is a global supermarket retailer with their regional sourcing office headquarter in Hong Kong, as well as operations in China and SEA. As part of the global sustainability initiative, they are looking for a 6 months contract project manager in depth knowledge in BCI (Better Cotton Initiative) to drive internal collaboration and execution on BCI programs across different teams in Asia. 

Jobs Responsibilities

• Partner with sourcing / buying team to roll out BCI project to achieve 100% more sustainable cotton within the targeted timeframe
• Continuous engagement with sourcing/buying team to ensure Suppliers embed BCI program as part of their operation
• Collaborate with Corporate Affairs team to drive and manage the execution of BCI project in accordance to agreed action plan and milestone
• Track project deliverables and measure project performance regularly to ensure all are within scope and budget
• Monitor project status and report progress on an agreed timeframe to respective stakeholders
• Analysis of data including pulling data together to ensure BCI units bought by supplier matches to our project plan/timeline.
• Conduct internal training on company BCI project and if required, co-ordinate for BCI Partner to deliver their respective training
• Be main point of contact to sourcing / buying team on BCI project and to provide guidance accordingly
• Escalate to Corporate Affairs Group/ Department Store ES Head on any concerns raised by team member
• Build effective relationship with global headquarter buying team and Asia sourcing team

 
Job Requirement:

• Degree or above in Project Management, Operational Management, Environmental Management or other related discipline
• At least 5 years’ experience in leading projects within sourcing industry with knowledge of sustainability and Better Cotton Initiative (BCI)
• Demonstrated successful stakeholder engagement across cultures and strong collaboration across all levels in the business
• Able to work independently under a tight schedule
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• Good problem solving and analytical skills
• Good command of both spoken and written English (Chinese/Mandarin is an advantage)
• Occasional travel is required
