Primary responsibilities:

• Prepare R&D prototypes, pilot batches and oversee production scale-up operations.
• Initiate stability studies and monitor results for specification compliance and product improvement.
• Research technical information on new or existing raw materials.
• Physical testing and evaluation of R&D products as required.
• Provide technical and troubleshooting assistance to the operation group.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of R&D product development projects.
• Evaluate chemical and physical properties of new raw materials and make recommendations for approval.
• Working closely with other assigned researchers in designing and building theoretical formulations for estimated-cost evaluation.
• To handle any other relevant responsibilities and/or functions of the Company or the Group.
• Reporting to the project manager or any other appropriate staff

Education requirement:

• BSc or above in Chemistry, Polymer Sciences, Bio-Medical Engineering, Materials Sciences or related disciplines
• Emphasis in one or more of the following areas is required:

Hydrogel formulation, production scale-up, manufacturing, rheological and analytical analysis, stability analysis, QA/QC, ISO systems, etc.

Qualifications:

• Experience with Hydrogel a plus.
• 0-2 years’ experience in medical product research and development.
• Experience in medical device and/or pharmaceutical development.
• Knowledge of safe laboratory practices.

• Produce quality deliverables/materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage multiple projects.
• Good team player, dynamic, and hardworking.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication (both oral & written) and inter-personal skills.

• Discreet and good judgment in handling/responding to confidential and sensitive information.
• Be able and be willing to roll-up one’s sleeves to adapt to this time and age of maximizing one’s own and the overall corporate efficiency / effectiveness / competitiveness with the support of updated information technology available in the market.
• Accurate, and very detail oriented.
• Proactive, independent (including independent correspondences by electronic mail &/or in hard copy) and be able to prioritize (not only for oneself but also for the affected colleagues) and manage multiple tasks with a strong sense of responsibility for completing tasks.
• Mature, results oriented with international mindset and strong personal drive to take initiative and get things done.
• Excellent hands-on working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; be able to independently prepare and execute presentations, reports, graphs, charts, spreadsheets, etc.
• Excellent command of both English and Chinese, both oral (including Putonghua in the latter case) and in writing, is a pre-requisite.
• Willingness to travel internationally.
