Investment Analyst

• Screening, evaluation and execution of direct overseas investments, including but not limited to Brazil, China, South America, South Africa and ASEAN countries. In-house strategic advisory project execution (for Group senior management).

  Responsibilities

  Reporting to the director and team head, the role involves:

  • Screening and evaluation of private equity investment opportunities, including industry and company investment research and financial modeling

   • Coordination of due diligence, documentation and closing processes

   • Helping to process new investment opportunities, ranging from market assessment, to competitive positioning;

  • Building robust, flexible financial models to support deal underwriting and deal structuring efforts;

  • Performing ad-hoc analysis to support transaction negotiations;

   

  Requirements

  The successful candidate will closely match the following:

  • Degree qualified from a reputable institution.

  • At least 3 years of related experience either with a PE firm, investment bank or management consulting firm; Law firm corporate/M&A/fund formation, and/or Family Office/Private Banking.

  • Candidates with solicitor qualification, CFA designation, CPA designation, SFC licenses holder for Type 4 and 9 regulated activities, and/or who possess other advanced finance/investment qualifications would be preferred.

  • Strong strategic thinking ability, problem-solving and self-starting personality

  • Strong financial modelling and valuation experience; Knowledge on Forestry industry is a plus.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, mature and comfortable in senior-level interactions internally and externally; A good teamplayer

  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (Mandarin is a MUST). Other language capabilities (e.g. Portuguese, Spanish, French,) would be a plus.

  • Frequent travel is required.
