Job Description

Dynamics of the Role

Work with accounting team and business owners to discover potential risks around accounting non-compliance and provide advice to maintain effective internal controls surrounding the financial reporting process in accordance with company policies and procedures. Be a subject matter expert and liaise with both internal (e.g. cross department) and external parties (e.g. auditors) by applying comprehensive knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and Corporate SOPs. Research and analyze technical accounting and financial reporting issues and assess disclosure implications.

 

How You’ll Contribute

  • Field Engagement: Works cross-functionally and engages with key stakeholders in Sales and Business Operations. Identifies, analyzes, and monitors issues that affect the compliance and makes recommendations to leadership as needed. (e.g. revenue recognition)
  • Compliance Review: Manage the execution of compliance-related controls over a number of business processes. Review and monitor financial reporting process to ensure the controls are in place and properly performed to meet obligations with respect to operational and accounting compliance risks.
  • Regulatory change assessment: Assess the impact of new or amended compliance obligations and assist in initiating processes to make any required changes to practices, procedures and documentation. Liaise with auditors on key audit area and keep up-to-date external reporting standard for tax and accounting.
  • Internal Policy Creation & Update: Work with accounting team to discover any potential financial control discrepancies and resolve conflicts. Design and implement improvements in communication, monitoring, and enforcement of compliance standards with respect to educating stakeholders on their compliance duties and obligations.
  • Compliance Issue Management: Provide advice and assistance on compliance issues to various business areas, especially in relation to the interpretation of relevant accounting standards and corporate SOPs. Consult with legal counsel and accounting specialists as necessary to address technical and accounting compliance issues.

  • University graduate or above with CPA qualification, min 6-8 years relevant working experience in MNC business
  • Attention to details.
