Job Description –Equity Analyst

Aspex Management is a Hong Kong based firm founded in 2018 by an experienced team of investment professionals led by the former Head of Asia Equities at one of the largest alternative asset managers globally.  The firm currently functions as the family office of the founder.

The firm is looking to build a first-class investment team focused on fundamental equity long/short investing.  

Responsibilities

• Independently formulate and execute on investment ideas, with specific sector and country focus:

o   Sectors: Technology, Hardware

o   Within these sectors, to have specific coverage of Smartphones and Smartphone supply chain, PC and PC/processing supply chain, Memory and Storage, Display, Networking and Semiconductors

o   Geographies: US, Korea, China (inc. China related stocks listed elsewhere), Japan, Taiwan, other Asian countries

• Conduct in-depth, thorough fundamental analysis on industries and companies through a range of avenues:

o   Building strong relationships with company management teams and sell-side analysts

o   Detailed analysis of both third party and proprietary data sets, use of channel checks, consumer surveys

o   Frequent travel to countries covered to meet with contacts and companies

• Independently build and maintain detailed financial models on the companies within coverage areas

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelors or above degree from a top university in business, mathematical, engineering or IT-related fields, eg Economics, Engineering, Computer Science
• A minimum of 5 years relevant financial industry experience, with at least 3 years of experience in equity investing roles
• Strong knowledge of the Technology and Hardware sectors within the US and Asia
• Having previous investing experience based in the US would be an advantage
• Native level English, working proficiency in Korean
