Job Description

The position requires an experienced senior officer who is able to effectively design, organise and produce the advocacy and campaign materials and activities, reports to the Manager, Hong Kong Programme and Development Education.

 

Responsibilities and duties:

 

  • Organise advocacy and education activities such as press conference, symposium, workshops, etc.
  • Assist the CEO in preparing speeches, talks and communications materials regarding the advocacy work targeting different stakeholders
  • Proactively response to local emergent child-issues, write articles to communicate local child-right/child protection issues
  • Design and produce campaign materials and digital content for policy recommendations, public awareness and education
  • Identify research topic, manage advocacy and research projects in areas of child-rights and child protection
  • Contribute innovative ideas that will increase visibility of the organization’s research and advocacy
  • Establish good relations with different external parties including government officials, politicians, professional bodies or pressure groups
  • Assist to plan and develop internal advocacy training programmes for internal colleagues and external community parties
  • Act as a gatekeeper to ensure all influencing materials are in line with the global policies and guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

 

 

Qualifications:

  • University degree in social policy, journalism, education, social science related discipline
  • At least 4 years’ experience in  in similar role or demonstrated knowledge of relevant areas
  • Excellent English & Chinese oral and written communication skills
  • English requirement: Preferable with Grade C or above in English of HKCEE or 5* in English of  HKDSE
  • Knowledge of gender equality, child rights and child protection
  • Highly motivated and quick learner, able to work independently and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, highly organised and demonstrate a can-do attitude
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, knowledge of graphic software and digital production for campaigns is an advantage
  • Occasional travel is required
  • Agree with Plan’s mission and vision and observe strictly to data privacy and child safeguarding policies
