Forest House Waldorf School is situated in Sai Kung, New Territories, Hong Kong. It is a small, non-profit primary school based on Rudolf Steiner’s educational principles. We are seeking for two positions to be filled up.
1. MANDARIN TEACHER(Primary School)
- At least three years of Mandarin teaching experience
- Teaching Traditional Chinese Characters
- Good command of English Language
- Bachelor degree
- Genuine interest in teaching children from diverse background
- Commencement date: August 2018
RESPONSIBILITIES
vA willingness to understand Waldorf philosophy and pedagogy
vPlanning lessons and sequences of lessons to meet students individual learning needs to ensure student’s progression
vWorking together with colleagues in curriculum development
vSupport administrative needs with regards to classroom efficiency and materials
vAn active contribution to the policies and aspirations of the school
2. Teaching Assistant (Primary School)
- Trainee teacher
- Good command of English Language
- Ability to work with learning challenges
- Commencement date: August 2018
- Experience working with young children
RESPONSIBILITIES
vA willingness to understand Waldorf philosophy and pedagogy
vSupporting teachers within the classroom year 1-6 (age 6-12)

Forest House Waldorf School is a non-profit organisation which strives to offer inclusive education to all who seek it, regardless of religion, political background or culture. The school is the first Waldorf school in Hong Kong duly registered with the Education Bureau, is recognised by the Hague Circle - International Forum for Waldorf/Steiner Education in Switzerland and is an associate member of Steiner Education Australia (SEA).
The school is growing steadily, and there are now over 60 students for the academic year of 2021/22 receiving primary school education in our small campuses in the beautiful countryside - Sai Kung, Hong Kong - a community full of vital knowledge and wisdom of the land.
We have completed our first 7 year-cycle, and according to the strategic plan for the second 7 years, from 2021 to 2028, the school aims to expand its classes from primary school to the middle school to reach the capacity of 160+ students.
