The Job:

• Lead and manage Development Phase of new product - engineering definition of component material, geometry and assemblies, produce prototypes, validate structural, functional and durability principles through performance testing and model simulation, and define engineering tolerances for control and documentation
• Lead and manage engineering activities in Launch Phase – final component and assemblies specifications and BOM, inspection and approval on first off components, verify and approve pilot production to production build
• Interface and maintain productive relationships with program team members - ensure performance standards compliance with Performance Engineer, verify product costs meet defined price target with Finance and Product Marketing, brief Supplier Development on requirements for new materials, processes and technologies, coach Quality Engineer and Operations on product quality expectations
• Establish master schedule, work plans and resource requirements including budget and staffing to meet program and department goals and objectives, and monitor and report program status
• Manage, coach and nurture product development engineers to drive for continuous product improvement, advancement of engineering and technical skills and leadership in‘hands on’ engineering problem solving

 Requirements:

• Degree holder in Mechanical or related discipline
• Minimum 8 years working experience in medical device / industrial products, with experience in development of motorized wheelchair or message chair would be a definitely advantage
• Excellent experience on product development, selection of materials and strong knowledge on manufacturing process
• Good knowledge of ISO9000, UL/CE regulatory process
• Good knowledge of molding techniques and tooling constructions
• Proficient in Pro-E, AutoCAD, Solid Work product design
• Experience in project management
• Fluent in both spoken & written English & Chinese/Mandarin
