Dow Jones is looking for an iOS Engineer to join our Hong Kong office. This person will be work to create, maintain and develop native mobile applications, working in a small team on a world-class mobile platform which supports some of the world’s leading premium brands. The successful candidate will use cutting edge technology such as Alamofire, Swiftlint, and Jenkins. This person will also be involved in open source initiatives to showcase their own passions and involvement in technology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Consult and partner with engineering, product and design to work to solve mobile engineering challenges and goals 
• Collaborate with a team to define, design, and shape new features 
• Design and build SDKs and applications for the iOS platform 
• Ensure the expected performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications are achieved
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs 
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and continuous integration 
• Coding/configuration, testing, implementation and documentation of solution. Develop design specifications as needed
• Monitor the operating efficiency of existing application systems and provides (or arranges for) proactive maintenance
• Working with the selected tools and methodologies for projects
• Commit to overall deliverables with colleagues, customers and/or management

Qualifications:

• Computer Science Degree or strong engineering foundation
• 4+ years iOS development experience and familiarity with mobile architecture
• Objective-C or Swift expertise (2-3 years experience) 
• Experience with RESTful APIs to connect iOS applications to back-end services
• Webservices: HTTP, REST, JSON
• Experience with Agile and SCRUM methodologies
• Knowledge of other web technologies and UI/UX standards 
• Able to design systems/applications with high level of complexity (e.g. many interfaces, multiple packages, platforms)
• Experience developing apps that visualize large quantities of data and handle data streaming
• Experience with the full SDLC process, versioning, code management, and deployment methodologies
• Serves as a technical expert on existing applications supporting the business area, along with other inter-related / adjacent systems and applications
