Haymarket is seeking an experienced Conference Producer who is motivated to grow AsianInvestor existing events portfolio and launch new events across Asia Pacific. The successful candidate will work with industry experts and internal experts to develop commercially compelling programs in a deadline-driven environment.

The role will involve in-depth telephone/desk research into target market, identifying hottest topics, writing programme & copy, recruiting speakers and executing an effective marketing campaign within set budget and deadlines. The conference producer will also liaise with speakers and sponsors and ensure the smooth running of events on-site.

As a conference producer, you will be expected to generate topics through your research, publications and relationships and need very little management support through the production process. You will be tasked specifically with growing individual events and increasing their profitability as well as identifying and launching selective new event series

• Best-in-class service providers to the asset management community such as investment consultants, fund administrators, prime brokers, placement agents, law firms, accounting firms, technology providers, etc.
• Regulators and senior government officials.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Produce compelling agendas featuring key industry leaders
• Understand what makes the market tick, what are the pain points, what information do delegates need to make real business decisions
• Build relationships in industry to attract the highest profile speakers
• Oversee the P&L to ensure a profitable event
• Coordinating and managing logistical issues, often on-site, in real time
• Know how to identify the opportunities that will help sales hit their ambitious targets Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities.

Personal specifications:

• Understanding of the asset management industry & alternative investments
• A minimum of 2 years work experience (preferred: conference production, strategic marketing, content development or a related position involving deep commercial research, business planning, project management and a deadline-driven environment)
• Language skills in Mandarin preferred but not essential
• The willingness and ability to launch a project from scratch
• Experience conducting telephone and in person research within a target market to assess commercial opportunity.
• Experience writing marketing materials and other mailing pieces.
• Extensive experience with the Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
