Job Description

The Programme Officer will responsible for formulating and implementing all programme campaigns to support YEC's artisitc goals. The main working location will be YEC office in Kwun Tong, but you may need to work flexibly during weekend or public holiday in screening venues from time to time as deemed necessary.

 

You will be responsible for:

• Contributing ideas in planning, curating and developing film programmes;

• Coordinating Hong Kong Independent Film Festival and organising irregular film screenings (include but not limited to duties on copyright issues, venue & ticketing, promotional schemes, hospitality, film logistics, technical & screening matters);

• Writing proposals and reports;

• Archiving documents and materials of past events;

• Assisting in daily operation of YEC office, include but not limited to accounting, administrative and financial works;

 

Requirements

• Degree holder or above, with at least two years of working experience in film related programme (those with more experience may be considered for a Manager position);

• Interested in film culture, aspired to a career in cinema;

• Strong sense of responsibility, independent, detail-oriented and well-organised;

• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, proficiency in English and Chinese word processing, Windows, Mac OS and MS Office, strong understanding of social media strategy;

• Knowledge of graphic design and video editing software (Adobe Photoshop、Illustrator、After Effect) is preferred.

Founded in 1997, Ying E Chi is a non-profit arts organisation that was established by a group of Hong Kong independent filmmakers. Our mission is to unite local independent filmmakers, as well as to distribute and promote independent films. In 2011, branch in Macau was founded to strengthen the cooperation between independent filmmakers in the two cities. Ying E Chi has been organising Hong Kong Independent Film Festival annually since 2008 (2008-2009 as Hong Kong Asian Independent Film Festival), in order to promote independent films of world cinema, and to provide alternative film selections for local audience. We will keep exploring more channels for independent films to connect with general audience as we head towards our 20th anniversary.
