Job Purpose

To ensure that all products are safe, compliant and fit for purpose. You will need to work closely with the UK QA Team, merchandisers, suppliers & factories, inspection companies, test laboratories & QA Manager. You will also liaise with the wider Hong Kong and European team as required.

The role will require regular visits to suppliers & factories and test laboratories.

Responsibilities

• Support the Quality Assurance Manager HK.
• Continually review QA procedures and recommend changes to improve efficiencies and effectiveness.
• Provide advice on the quality, safety, compliance & testing of new product initiatives.
• Conduct desk top risk assessment of suppliers and factories audits and coordinate necessary follow-up activity.
• Conduct, document & communicate new product risk assessments, identifying test requirements and potential quality and safety risks.
• Provide details of the required technical information for packaging for International packaging and check & approve subsequent artwork.
• Support merchandisers and suppliers and provide & document QA input at all product development stages.
• Compile and complete product technical files.
• Coordinate pre-shipment inspection activities including liaising with suppliers & inspection company, developing and communicating Special Inspection Check requirements, approval & follow up of inspections.
• Provide advice on the quality, safety & compliance for International markets.
• Maintain and update the QA Tracker including factory and product status.
• Support suppliers to implement necessary CAP as required.
• Establish cost effective test programs with test laboratories.

Skills  

1. Required minimum 3 years previous experience in a QA/product technologist role.
2. Preferred Manufacturing Engineering, Product Design or Testing Laboratory background or experience.
3. Experience of International Directives, Regulations, Standards & requirements.
4. Logical thinker with ability to analyse numerical and written data.
5. Strong investigative skills with ability to identify risk and implement effective solutions.
6. High level of attention to detail.
7. Ability to work with, and protect, confidential information.
8. Strong organisational and time management skills.
9. Good written and verbal communication skills.
10. Computer literate with intermediate knowledge in MS Word, Excel & Access.
