We are looking for a high caliber professional to work in the project for client, a large scale global investment bank.

Overall Objectives

• Assist in maintaining all databases and related components in production and testing/development environments in North Asia.
• Participating in different projects and areas which involves database components

Core Responsibilities

• Perform installation, configuration, upgrading and patching of Oracle/Sybase/MSSQL server/client software and related products
• Provide database support in daily operation and project area.
• Ensure the integrity of and maintain sound backup and recovery procedures as well as disaster recovery plan
• Perform migration, changes or rollouts
• Maintain database security to comply with the group’s standards and regulations.
• Perform database performance tuning, optimization, monitoring and capacity planning
• React proactively to different parties involved in case of any incidents happened.
• Maintain documentation, share relevant knowledge and skills to the team members
• Provide non-office hour support in 7x24 rota. Discretionary unusual working hours should be expected.
• Support development teams including trouble shooting and consultation in database area or related technologies.
• Closely working with UNIX/Wintel system administrators. Be-able to communicate well to other IT-support teams in different area.
• Work with the Regional counterparts in following Global Database standards and regional requirements. Contribute to the Global/Regional projects.
• Interact with database vendors in support cases

Requirements

• Degree or equivalent in computer or engineering related subject is desirable
• Professional certification in one of the database - Oracle/Sybase/MSSQL
• Minimum 2 years experience as a production DBA
• A good working knowledge of UNIX (Solaris, AIX) and Windows server. Experience on Solaris 10 with knowledge on SHS. AIX preferably AIX 5.3 will be an advantage
• Knowledge in Windows server 2000/2003. Knowledge with Virtual Server or DOD will be an advantage.
• Well knowledge in RDBMS backup/recovery scenarios.
• Good knowledge of HA/Clustering technologies for Oracle DG and RAC, Sybase Replication and MSSQL Mirroring and Log Shipping
• Skills on database performance tuning
• Preferable to have knowledge on IBM Tivoli Storage manager, Quest Foglight, Oracle Grid Control
• Preferable to have experience of working in a commercial bank and experience on System Administration and/or Application Development
• Mature mindset, good team player, out-going personality, proactive will be appreciated
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Should be able to work under pressure.
