KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Report to the Chief Financial Officer, oversee a team of shipping staff in Asia to coordinate with Import Department in Paris headquarter, suppliers and forwarders on shipment to ensure on time delivery.
• Liaise externally with suppliers, forwarders, local transporters and internally with in-house teams of supply chain and finance.
• Manage and monitor the costs and performance of freight forwarders and transport providers.
• Compare quotations and negotiate competitive pricing with freight forwarders. Identify and implement cost saving and transportation service improvements.
• Report and analyse shipping data and activities for continuous improvement of shipping management function.
• Manage the flow of goods in transit and prepare inventory reports.
• Review existing shipping processes and reports, participate on process streamline initiative and develop standard operating procedures
• Lead, develop and motivate direct reports ensuring continuous improvement through regular team sessions, creating a positive environment with clear communication channels.
• Effectively resolve unexpected shipping problems for the team on a timely basis.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree / diploma (or equivalent) in Logistics / Supply chain management / Transport management.
• At least 8 years related experience in shipping or freight forwarding, either from trading or logistics companies, of at least 3 years at supervisory level.
• Strong experience in the shipping industry practice, familiar with customs procedures and Letter of Credit operation.
• Ability to work independently and self-motivated.
• Ability to communicate with senior management and cross functionally.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated with proactive working style; detail minded, committed and accountable, able to multi-task and work independently.
• Proficiency in both written and spoken of English and Mandarin.
• Proficiency in MS office such as outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing.
