THE ROLE

We are looking for a Financial Accountant to undertake all aspects of group financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and corporate governance, HR and general office management.  This is a great opportunity for an experienced Financial Accountant to join the Hong Kong operations team of a fast growth SaaS technology company, working with a world class management team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounting

• Liaison with outsourced accountants
• Updating of cash management tools
• Marking off items as paid in Xero
• Keeping hard copy files of transactions
• Preparation of periodic account reconciliations
• Posting of accounting records as required.

Financial control

• Creation of online payments for management approval
• Agreement of payments against budget
• Review of staff expenses against policies
• Collation of reports and data from overseas subsidiaries
• Supply of creditor invoices to outsourced accountants for input to Xero
• Review of customer invoices/credit notes prepared by outsourced accountant
• Production of regular financial reports

Corporate Governance

• Acting as company secretary or as liaison with nominated company secretary (as the case may be)
• Management of corporate timetable, such as annual returns and other corporate filings
• Assistance with organisation of board and investor meetings

HR

• Administration and documentation of onboarding and offboarding employees
• Creation of the statutory forms for payroll
• Completion of monthly MPF/CPF/superannuation/pension equivalent
• Collation of expenses from senior management

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills

• Diligence in record keeping and organisation
• Strong understanding of accounting principles
• Good communication skills

Experience

• Use of Xero
• 1 -2 years previous experience as a financial accountant in a Hong Kong SME or Asia-based international company.

Languages

• Fluent spoken and written English and Cantonese.  Other languages a significant benefit. 

Education

• University degree or equivalent professional apprenticeship
• Internationally recognised professional accounting qualification eg ACCA, CPA

Compensation

Compensation will be very competitive with market, including base, a discretionary bonus based on broader performance, and benefits (e.g., stock options, additional leave)
